Hi Carty here is the new hi bye!
Hi
In this episode a secret will be revealed. Enough said.
I went into Co and Ma’s room, where Co was wearing a tuxedo, and Ma was putting a tie on him.
T: Oh, you fancy, huh?
Co: Yup.
Ma: There you go.
T: Where exactly are you going, anyway?
Co: I don’t know some fancy thing with Cl’s friends.
Ma: I don’t understand why I can’t go.
She had been pouting about it ALL afternoon.
Ma: I swear, if anything happens between you two.... well, you better know I’m watching you boy, and if you do anything at all your in a lot of trouble. That means no kissing, no hand holding, no ‘I love you’s’, no sex, -
Co: I know, Ma. I’m not gunna touch her. She just needs someone to accompany her to this thing.
T: Accompany? Since when do you say fancy words?
Co: I’m practicing.
Ma: I’m good at acting fancy, I WANNA GO! Why can’t I accompany her? And of course, she has to bring the guy she’s home wrecking; I mean, come on. She’s got to find another man. It’s been like a century. She’s got to get over you. But, no. She’s just going to make you dress up all sexy and have you take her; but no worries, I’ll just stay here and watch Harry Potter all alone in the basement while you’re at some fucking royal ball.
T: Someone’s jellin’.
Co: Do you really think I’d go to a ball? Do you ever see me dance?
Ma: ... I could see it.
Co: We’ll be home by 11:00, promise. Trust me, it’ll be boring. I wish I could stay back and watch Harry Potter with you.
Ma looked at me.
Ma: Why are you here, anyways?
T: I’m... uh.. here to tell you that me and Jaxon are going to Travis’ soon. Travis is picking us up, cause they’re driving by anyway so you don’t need to drive there or anything.
Ma: Okay. Bye.
T: Bye.
I walked out. SCORE! Me and Jaxon weren’t really going to Travis’ house. Of course we weren’t. We were on a mission. I walked into my room.
T: We’re all set, Jax.
Ja: The excuse worked?
T: Yep.
Ja: Sweet!
T: But I think they’re leaving soon, come on.
Ja: How do we know what car they’re taking?
T: They’re taking the Audi, it’s already started.
We went down the stairs and got our jackets on. Then Cl came in the room. DAMN, WAS SHE EVER LOOKING FINE!!
T: Whoa.
Ja pushed me.
Ja: Shut up.
Cl: Where are you guys going?
T: Travis’ house. He’s here. Bye.
I opened the door and we went out.
Ja: Bye mom.
T: Come on.
We ran over to the trunk.
Ja: It’s locked!
I dangled the keys in front of his face.
Ja: You got this all planned out, don’t you?
T: Yep.
I unlocked it and opened the trunk.
T: Get in.
He climbed in.
Ja: Come on.
T: Wait here, I have to put the keys back.
I ran back in the house, threw the keys down and ran back out to the trunk, got in, and closed the door.
T: They’ll be here soon, until then I got binoculars.
I started looking through them so I could see them when they came out the front door.
T: Tell me something about this. I never even know Cl had friends.
Ja: I know. Mom hasn’t been out with her friends for a long time.
T: How long?
Ja paused. I looked at him to see him looking really upset.
Ja: About a year and a half ago.
T: Do you remember when, specifically?
I looked back out at the front door through my binoculars.
Ja: um... yeah, April, I think. The beginning of it.
T: Kay. How about- WAIT, they’re coming out.
Ja ran to the window and looked out.
T: Your mom is so sexy.
Ja: I don’t like when she wears tight clothes.
T: I do.
Ma shut the door and Co and Cl started walking towards the car. Co held the door open for her and she went in.
Co: So, tell me where we’re going.
She started giving him directions and me and Ja held our breaths so we wouldn’t get caught. After a while, they were quiet.
Co: You look really pretty, by the way.
Cl: You are really sexy, by the way.
Co: *smiles* So what is this thing we’re going too, exactly?
Cl: It’s kind of like a ball, I guess. It’s an engagement party for an old friend.
Co: I don’t mean to sound rude, but I don’t ever hear you talking about- wait. Did you say... a ball? Like... dancing?
Cl: Well, yeah.
Co stopped really suddenly, but it was a red light so I guess he had too.
Co: Cl. I don’t dance.
Cl: It’s okay, its slow dancing. You just need to do that box step thing. You did it at the wedding, right?
The wedding? I don’t know why, but I find this kind of odd.
Co: You mean my wedding, right?
Cl: Yeah.
Co: Well, yeah, I guess I did; but I was dancing with Ma. I don’t know if I can dance with you, you know?
Cl: We’re almost there, you can’t turn back now. *smiles* And besides, you’re my only, and best, guy friend.
Co: I am a pretty awesome friend.
Fifteen minutes later we parked. When Co and Cl were getting out of the car, Ja and me ran out of the car as fast as possible and shut the door.
T: *whispers* Come on.
We followed stealthy and watched their behaviour. Cl started walking pretty close to Co, when they got into the hall they were greeted by a girl in a fancy blue dress with brown hair tied up in a bun. Her name was Rose. She had a huge diamond on her finger. Cl had some rich bitch friends.
Rose: Cl!
She hugged her awkwardly.
Rose: It’s been so long!
Cl: I know! How have you been?
Rose: Good, good! And this must be Matt.
She held out his hand for Co. Ja gasped. I looked at him. He looked really upset again. Co looked at Cl all confused. She glared at him and then he just shook the girls hand.
Rose: I’m Rose.
Co: Matt...
She took his hand, and looked at his wedding ring.
Rose: Nice ring, Cl, I didn’t know you could afford that.
It seemed like this Rose didn’t really like Cl.
Cl: I can.
Rose: And where’s your ring?
Cl: It’s... um.... well, to be honest; the kids got to it and misplaced it. But, Matt’s been looking for it, haven’t you, darling?
She put her arms around him. He was just really confused. But he nodded yes.
Rose: *laughs* Oh, alright. Come in, then. We have snacks over there, and we’ll be dancing here.
She walked away. Co pushed Cl away and glared at her.
Co: Cl, what the hell is going on?
Cl had tears in her eyes. People were looking at them, so she put her hands back on his chest and stared at him.
Cl: You have to go along with it.
Co sounded really angry.
Co: Cl, I-
Cl: You have too.
She was desperate.
Co: Okay, I will, but why? What the hell is going on, Cl?
Cl: I’ll tell you later. But for now, know this.
She looked around to make sure people weren’t looking then pinned him to the wall.
Cl: You’re name is Matt Grey; I’m Claire Grey. We’re married. There’s no such thing as Co and Ma, it’s just me, you, Jaxon and Julia. We’re happy. And in love. Okay?
Co: Okay, but Cl, you need to tell me-
Cl: Later. Come on.
She took his hand and pulled him to the dance floor.
Co: Why the hell is everyone dancing anyway? These people aren’t even you’re friends, Cl, they’re just-
Cl: Put your hands on my waist.
He did so; and she put her arms around him and they started dancing.
Cl: *laughs* Your right, you suck at this.
Co: *laughs* What I do for my friends...
A chick: Cl? Is that you?
A blonde haired girl, whose hair was all curly like Taylor Swift’s came up to them.
Cl and Co turned around.
Cl: Beth! Hi!
They hugged awkwardly too.
Beth: I never thought you’d show up.
Cl: Why wouldn’t I? *smiles*
Beth: Well, we haven’t seen you for almost two years.
Cl: It’s only been a year and a half.
She said that super quickly, like she couldn’t bear it to be two years.
Beth: Either way, we haven’t talked forever. Do you two want to come sit down?
Cl: Sure.
She pulled Co’s arm.
Cl: Come on.
They all sat down.
Beth: So tell me how you’ve been? How are the kids?
Cl: Good.
Beth looked at Co.
Co: good.
Beth: What are you doing for Christmas this year?
Cl: We’re just staying in this year and having a small Christmas with the kids.
Beth: Just saying, you two have been married for three years; are you ever going to have a kid with each other? Because Jaxon and Julia have a different birth father, right?
Co: Yeah, they do.
Cl: We’re trying to have another one, actually. We’ve been trying for a while.
Beth smiled at Cl and then looked at Co.
Beth: Matt, can I talk to you?
Co: Yeah...
Beth: Alone.
She got up. So did Co. She led him to the far end of the room.
Beth: So, what’s your name?
Co: Matt...
Beth: Honestly?
Co: Yeah. I’m Cl’s husband.
Beth: But Matt died.
Co looked totally shocked. I looked over at Ja who was crying.
Beth: Come on, we all know he’s dead. Cl went all psycho and depressed. She kept saying Matt never died and that they were still together, but I know you aren’t Matt.
Co: ...I... I don’t understand...
He looked over at Cl.
Beth: Has Cl told you about Matt?
Co: No... she just told me I had to pretend, and she’d tell me why later.
Beth: Does she ever smile?
Co: Yeah... all the time.
Beth: Man, you must be a miracle worker.
Co: No, just a friend.
Beth: Who are you?
Co: Co.
Beth: Co Faith?
He nodded.
Beth: Oh my God. She was in love with you. Until she met Matt.
Co: Wh-when did he... die?
Beth: April 3rd 2009
Co: She came back to me at the end of November. She lives with us but she’s never mentioned anything about-
Beth: She lives with you?
Co: Yeah.
Beth: How can you live with that?
Co: She’s fine.
Beth: She’s so goddamn depressed though.
Co: She’s always smiling.
She was just so shocked.
Beth: You sure you’re just her friend?
Co: Just a friend.
Beth: We’re her friends and we can’t do shit.
Co: Oh. Uh... she’s in love with me.
Beth: That makes sense. Are you in love with her?
Co: NO. I’m married. To someone else. She lives with us because she’s having some money problems.
Beth: You know, I’ll bet she isn’t in love with you. She was over you. She’s in love with Matt and your the closest to him she’s got. You do look like him, you know. Look, I dont know who you are, but that girl is not in her right mind. And it seems to me that you’re the only one who can help her. You need to help her.
They both looked at Cl, who was sitting at the table more tense than ever. Co looked at Beth, nodded, then walked over to Cl.
Co: Get up.
She got up.
Cl: What?
And then he just gave her the biggest bear hug ever. He was queit for a minute before he spoke.
Co: I know the truth, Cl. We all do.
And just like that, she burst into tears.
Co: I love you, you know that?
I looked at Ja who was crying, too. A lot. And I knew that whoever the hell this Matt was, Ja and Ju loved him too.
T: Do you wanna go home?
Ja: No way, we’re spying. It’s fun.
T: Way to be strong, buddy.
We drew our attention back towards them. Cl was talking through her tears, she could barely breathe, she was gasping for air, and she said all of this really fast:
Cl: I loved you, I did, but I got over it. I had Jaxon and Julia and we were happy and then he came along and he was everything. God, he was everything. We got married. I loved him. So much. He was everything. And then, one day, he was just gone. I can barely remember what happened the next few months after that, but I remember in November; I felt like I was in love with you again. And when we decided to be friends for the kids, I tried, but I couldn’t; I thought I was in love with you, and I am, but the reason I’m in love with you is because I’m in love with Matt and he’s just gone and whenever I see you and Ma together its like a slap in the face because you guys got what you wanted. Ma’s always the one telling me not to take things for granted, but I know that. I’m dying to tell her not to take things for granted, because she takes you for granted. You don’t understand, you have everything you’ve always wanted and I’ll never have that because of a stupid fucking drunk driver who didn’t give a shit about anything. He got off free, but Matt didn’t. We didn’t. He’s gone, I’m gone, and I can see it in my kids eyes that they aren’t fully here, either. I can’t do this anymore. I CAN’T FUCKING DO THIS ANYMORE, I-
She paused. Maybe it was because everyone in the whole place was staring at them, or maybe it was because Cl realized that they were dancing. And maybe everyone was staring because they heard her crying, maybe it was because Co REALLY sucked at dancing, or maybe it was because when they were dancing, they really looked like they were both in love with each other. In that moment, whatever the hell that moment was, Cl was in love with Co and he was in love with her. You know? I guess sometimes there was just something in the way they were looking at each other, or holding each other, or the way they were dancing. It was corny as fuck. But there was a firework between them. Katy Perry must be physic.
He put his head to hers and she smiled.
Cl: You really suck at dancing.
Co: *smiles* I know.
He wiped her tears away. They were quiet and just kept dancing. And they were staring at each other so they wouldn’t have been able to notice that almost everyone else was tearing up. I wasn’t. Cause I was so manly. And awesome. People sitting at the tables were either just watching Co and Cl or talking quietly about some fun times they had with this Matt. He sounded like a really awesome guy.
Rose: *whispering to some other people* When I graffitied all those fences, he helped me wash them off because he knew I felt guilty about it and he didn’t want me to get caught.
Some other chick: He and Cl came to our Christmas party in 2008. He barely knew any of us, but he got all of us presents.
Another chick: I remember that day. He loved the kids, and they loved him so much.
Beth: He always sang, even though he sucked at it. And he danced, too, even though he was even worse at that.
They looked at Co and Cl again.
Co: I love you.
Cl: I love you, too.
Co: Do you want to go home?
Cl: No. Let’s stay and dance for a while.
Co: This is the most embarrassing thing I’m ever going to do in my life.
Cl: You’re sexy. Trust me.
Co: I’ll take your word for it.
They kissed for a moment, and then she put her head on his shoulder and they danced a while and said things that made it sound an awful like it should be Co and Ma talking. I wonder what Ma will think about this.
T: Come on dude, its time to crash this party.
Ja: Seriously?
T: We’re going out.
Ja: Ready?
T: SET, GO!
We ran out into the dance floor and started dancing. Co and Cl turned around super quick.
Co: DAMN IT, GUYS!
We were all laughing though.
Cl: Of course you guys would.
Ja ran up and hugged Cl.
Ja: I love you, mom.
Cl: I love you, too, buddy.
They switched the song to some party music and we all danced like idiots. The moment was happy. We just decided it would be best to keep this from Ma for a while. But one thing was for sure; Co and Cl were suddenly WAY closer than before, and even Ma would be able to see that.
Bye
